What is Naked Grouse?
Naked Grouse is a new type of whisky, getting back to basics. Rather than mixing different grains and processes, Naked Grouse is simply a blend of malt whiskies, made from 100% malted barley. How’s it made? Thousands of hopeful casks from all over Scotland — including stars such as Highland Park and The Macallan — are nosed, sampled and interrogated to get the right taste and personality for Naked Grouse.
Then the lucky malts are meticulously blended and poured into 'first fill' oloroso sherry casks where they’re left for six months to, you know, work it out between themselves. The result — a unique, unpretentious star.
