Why Leaders Fear AI More Than Their Teams | BCG’s Sagar Goel on the Real Workforce Shift

Are managers more afraid of AI than their employees? According to Sagar Goel, Managing Director and Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), they are.

In this clip from my Tech Talks Daily interview, Sagar explains why 43% of leaders worry about AI-driven job disruption compared to 36% of frontline employees. He argues that senior leaders have a deeper understanding of how AI can reshape business models and are often less prepared to re-skill and re-train later in their careers.

But the real shift, he warns, is still to come. Entry-level roles are the ones most likely to be automated as agentic AI accelerates adoption, increasing the urgency for frontline workers to pivot into more augmented roles.

Watch the full conversation on how AI is transforming leadership, workforce development, and the future of reskilling at work.
